gene urban and friends to open for penn and teller

Just got confirmation that Gene Urban, magician and mentalist, will be joining a select group of magicians from around the nation to open an evening of magic that ends with a stage performance by Penn and Teller.

Gene has been chosen for his close-up card work and mentalism where guests seemingly perform the magic. He will be joined by 3 other top performers from around the country.

A little post magic show update from Gene Urban

Wow was this a fun show. My old friend and fellow magi Brother Paul West put this show together for the owners of Hilton Hotels world wide. He was asked to bring in a few top magicians to provide the opening magic for Penn & Teller who headlined the event.

The event was held at a one of Hilton’s top properties in Orlando Florida. The host property went all out to celebrate its incredible brand and the arrival of hotel owners from throughout the world.

Each of the close up magicians worked a specific area and wowed the over 2000 guests. I had a great station near the entry and had the opportunity to share the magic with hundreds of wonderful people. Judging by the dozens of cards people asked for I believe a good time was had by all.

After our close up set we went to the green room back stage and had a chance to chat with the big stars of the night, Penn and Teller. Yes, Teller can talk and does so quite eloquently. Penn was a bit busy playing with his brand new IPad.
